how to become an nfl cheerleader

Oh my gosh, becoming an NFL cheerleader is on the bucket list of so many people-myself included! I don’t know how I could ever attain that goal, but I’m willing to put in the work and dedication. It isn’t easy, however, because it takes rigorous training, a ton of perseverance and most importantly confidence.

To be an NFL cheerleader, you have to be absolutely perfect. You must be in top physical shape, have an attractive and presentable appearance, a bubbly personality, and so much more. To add to it, you need to have an outstanding dance background and be versed in many dance styles. Plus, you must be between 18 and 32 years old.

When I first heard about all of these prerequisites, I felt like I was in over my head. But then I learned that you don’t have to have years of dance training to make it. I’ve done yoga in the past so that made me feel a bit better about the physical requirements.

The audition process involves a few rounds before you get to the final selection. First, you audition in group or individual settings and must present your best dance moves. After that’s completed, they narrow down the group and pick a handful of finalists – usually just one or two people – to move on to a second round, which is a one to three-minute dance routine.

During the audition, the judges look for skill, personality, energy, and enthusiasm, as well as body shape, fitness level, and skill in the art of dance. I know it sounds daunting, but when I think of it that way, it actually makes me more excited and prepared to give it my all during the audition.

You need to be committed to the entire process if you want to make it. Involve yourself in the community and sign up for NFL cheerleading workshops or classes. Research, watch videos, hire a tutor, get into shape and become familiar with a few different dance styles, all of which will help you make a good impression during the audition.

When I put it that way, it’s not so intimidating anymore! Sure, there’s hard work involved in the process, but anyone who wants this opportunity as badly as I do will be more than willing to put in the effort. This is why I think I can make it as an NFL cheerleader!
