My friend, have you heard of DeAndre Hopkins? He’s one of the most incredible players in the NFL. What many don’t know is that he has been in the NFL for almost a decade. Yes, you heard me right—a decade! To think that the long-time Houston Texans wide receiver has been playing professional football since 2013 blows my mind.
I can’t even remember what life was like before Hopkins became a superstar athlete. Life was so boring. Watching him on the field actually gave me something to live for! In the last seven years, he has had so many impressive moments and broken boundaries all while showing up year after year and dominating at his position. Yes, the man has definitely made history with his performance and it has been such a thrill to watch him year after year.
The list of accolades that Hopkin’s has achieved in the NFL is quite impressive. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl four times, won the Offensive Player of the Week seven times and was named a First-Team All-Pro four times. Hopkins has also managed to snag 85 touchdown passes in his career, and in 2018 he led the Texans with a career-high 11 touchdown catches!
What I also find incredible is the way that Hopkins is so consistent in his performance. It’s like, no matter how many hits he takes, he always seems to find a way to come out on top. He’s an absolute beast on the field and I think what’s really helped him stay on top of his game is the support of his teammates. The Texans have had an all-star lineup of players over the years, but it takes someone special to stand out from the pack.
That’s why it doesn’t surprise me that Hopkins has been in the NFL for eight years now, and is about to enter his ninth. He’s a true testament to what hard work, dedication and leadership can bring and his will to win the football game no matter what odds is simply inspiring. He’s a hero; I think we can all agree on that! I can’t imagine how long he will stay in the NFL, but I hope it’s many more years.
