I recently thought to myself “Can I tryout for multiple NFL cheer teams?”. My friends had been talking about it for weeks, and I was finally brave enough to take the plunge and give it a shot. When I told my friends about it, they were all incredibly excited and encouraging.
The first step in my journey was researching the different teams. I read up on different styles of cheerleading, went to some local events to meet the teams, and looked for any opportunities to try out. I was overwhelmed at the sheer number of teams I could potentially join – they all had different looks and personalities that would make this a really exciting journey.
The next step was finding out about the individual team’s tryouts. I scoured the internet and reached out to friends to gather all the information I needed. As I learned more and more, I was filled with a sense of excitement. I knew that if I worked hard and had the right attitude, I could make this dream come true.
The day of my tryouts ended up being incredibly intense. There were some nerves, but I was determined to perform my best. I did everything from dancing, to stunts, to basic cheer leading moves over the course of two days. Despite the hard work, it was fun and I learned a lot.
Afterwards, I had to wait and pray for results. I was so nervous when I finally received the notification that I was chosen for two teams. I immediately felt elated, and I truly felt like I attained a great accomplishment. At this point I realized that if I stumbled upon an opportunity that interested me, then I should go for it.
I was excited to join the team and started to learn the routines. It was a great challenge to keep up with all the different training, but I was up to the task. The team was so helpful and passionate about cheerleading – they encouraged me to take all the chances I could.
The team spirit was so infectious that I even got my friends involved too. We would try out different routines in our own space, cheering each other on and constantly pushing each other to get better. It was really special for us to cheer for the same team, because we had gone through the whole process together.
I have now completed my first season with two teams – and I’m so proud of what I accomplished. I never thought I would get this amazing opportunity and I would definitely recommend it to others. I have become the best cheerleader that I could ever be – something I never thought I was capable of.
